Cottrell Land Surveyors, PC is a family business with not only our own 85+ years of surveys, but also the acquired records of Randall, Seymour, Starbird, Schneider, Borden, Griffin, Higgins, Curtin, White, Evans, Forth, Smith, Linderman, Love and others dating back to the 1850's. This wealth of historic information enhances our capabilities to retrace latent property lines and to resolve related boundary issues.
Through the years we’ve also assembled a vast collection of gazetteers, town and county histories, atlases, wall maps, town road books, railroad and canal maps, village fire maps, original tax maps, quad sheets and special interest records, like cemeteries, original State Fair layout, 1930’s Work Project topographics and Syracuse-Suburban rail system. These references at times have provided significant clues to recovering property lines. In addition to our in-house efforts to maintain a public record, much content has also been donated to the Onondaga County Historical Association and local museums for preservation.
If your survey isn’t among our records, it should be! Call us today for a records check and/or an estimate.
